Paras, who had a passion for singing since childhood, came to Ludhiana in 1979 and hired folk singer Surinder Chhinda as his mentor. He married Paramjit Kaur and has a son Sukhdeep Paras and a daughter Gurpreet Kaur.

In 1982, four buds were recorded in Pars's voice, 'Girls came to play Arrow's target' Saw with a saw', Beh gaya nimvi pa ke'. This was followed by her record 'Jeth Mera Kaam Na Kare' with Sukhwant Kaur in 1984. In 1985, Pars's first LP The record 'My friend is drunk' came.

 Hakam Bakhtariwale's song 'Sadh Da Na Tam Langhe Bhang To Binain' became such a hit that it became well known among the contemporary artists of Paras. Under the music of composer Charanjit Ahuja, the record cassette 'Gal Mukdi Aa Ke Daaru Te' sung by Kuldeep Paras took his singing to the pinnacle. Many of his later cassettes became popular. The recorded religious tapes 'Khun Shaheed Da' and 'Jangnama Amritsar' were also huge hits in Paras's voice. 

Kuldeep Paras performed on stage with Sukhwant Kaur, Gulshan Komal, Usha Kiran, Rupinder Rupee and Baljinder Rimpy and also recorded songs. He also sang many hit songs in Punjabi films. In the Punjabi film 'Putt Jattan De', Paras sang along with Amar Singh Chamkeela in the chorus.

Kuldeep Paras sang songs written by Mirza Sangowalia, Chhinda Basrawanwala, Pali Detwalia, Balbir Singh Grewal, Bant Rampure Wala, Bhupinder Khurmi, Jagga Gill, Hakam Bakhtariwala, Teja Bhutte Wala, Randhir Singh Dheera and many more. Kuldeep Paras's voice was so loud that once Prof. Power went out at Mohan Singh Mela.

He surprised the audience and the audience by singing without a microphone. In 2002, a doctor advised Paras not to sing due to illness, but he set up an arena at his friend Jaggi's wedding and paid the musicians on the way out. Chamkila was supposed to wear a pink turban at the wedding of Pars and Amarjot was supposed to wear Pars's antimony, but the demise of the two shocked Paras. After Chamkile's departure, he started drinking more alcohol and went to the shrine of Jagdev Singh Jassowal at Chamkile's Dugri and kept crying.
